Lawnswood House - home of George Walker a spirit merchant then home of the Stuttard family from 1882 to 1965 when Miss Constance Annie Stuttard died at the age of 90. She was the daughter of Thomas Stuttard Esq. Lanes Constuction Co built bungalows and houses on the land.

Swinton RL ground, Chorley Road, 1886-1929. After a rent dispute with the landlord the club built a new and much larger home on old allotments just north of Swinton railway station, the famous Station Road ground.

Houses on Temple Drive collapsed into Clifton Hall Tunnel (Black Harry Tunnel) in 28 April 1953 killing 5 occupants of the houses. The tunnel was abandaned and later filled in to prevent futher collapse.

Old Swinton municipal offices (before Pendlebury & Radcliffe incorporation). New Swinton town hall replaced this building in Victoria Park. The building then became a clinic housing the dreaded school dentist amongst others.
