The factory was established (circa 1912-14?) by pioneer movie maker James Williamson who had previously been based in Hove. It manufactured aerial cameras which were used by the RFC in WWI and RAF in WWII. After WWII the demand for aerial cameras dwindled and they turned to X-ray film processing then diversified into specialist pump manufacture. The factory was demolished in the mid 1980's and the plot is now occupied by an old peoples home.
