You probably mean Northway Rd, I guess. Took me a while to work out the exact angle for this shot (Headington looking eastwards along the London Rd). The Dutch-gable style houses on Northway Rd are still there (2014).

Headington quarry (part of), yielding the stone that built New College, All Souls, Christchurch, Bodleian etc from the 14th century onwards. Headington was a warren of quarries.
