Bedford Modern School. This frontage is all that remains of the building after it was redeveloped as the Harpur Centre shops. The attached composite photo of plaques either side of the entrance were taken on the 2nd September 2015 and 28th May 2015.

The town bridge before it was widened with concrete along the western side in 1938-40. The join is still visible on the underside of the arches. The attached photo is from 1939 and was found on the www.ampthillimages.com web-site.

Ardor House on the corner of Dame Alice Street & The Broadway. This was the Gas Board Showroom (now a jewellers), but during WW2 the offices above were used to train code-breakers for Bletchley Park, working on Japanese encoded messages. It became known as "The Spy School". The attached photo was taken on the 2nd March 2015.

That photo couldn't have been taken in April 2009 as the store wasn't converted until 2011. Woolworths closed in December 2008 and the store remained empty until planning permission was given in March 2011 to convert to two units.
