All of these photographs are described as mills of 'J F Firth and Son' - actually the company name was T F Firth and Son. And now in 2012 there is not a single building left - not one. What was once a major carpet producer and employer (I worked there myself as a student in the 1970's, and my mother worked there part time in the 1950's and 60's) has vanished completely. Most of the land has been used for housing.

Actually it's not true that there are no buildings left - I must correct myself. The office building is still there. But the rest have disappeared.
