This corner shop was Wright's. The daughter Nancy married Frankie Firth and in the 1940s it was called 'Frankie Firth's' Frankie became a Hebburn Councillor and was a really nice man, always smiling and had time to speak. Their daughter Pat Firth had a shop in the late 50s on Finchale Rd.

These mounds/hillocks were reddish Bauxite waste . It was left there when the Aluminium manufacturer moved out and left all this mess.
