Waring Park. Two years before this photo was taken in May 1930 the park was completed.The formal opening of Waring Park took place on Saturday 2nd May 1931 with a ceremony performed by The Marquis of Camden, president of Kent CPFA, supported by the donors of the park, Lord and Lady Waring.

Little Birch Wood - later around this site would be Walton Road and Waring Park - land that was given to the people of Sidcup from Lord Waring of Foots Cray Place.

At the time of this photo Waring Park had already been built and you can see it just to the right of this pin. the park opened to the public in May 1930.
