Hullo all, Well this is a surprise. The image is the correct way round in the Digital Archive! We'll arrange for the correct file to be uploaded here. Yours, Katy Britain from Above Cataloguing Team Leader |

This picture is back to front. The curving road on the left side of the picture (as it's currently displayed) is Crescent Road and curves to the south west of the railway line in reality (the top of the picture is east). |

A very nice photo of Brentwood but unfortunately it appears to be a reverse image. The railway line should curve to the left, not to the right after the railway station, on its way up to Ingrave Summit, passing under Seven Arches Road Bridge. The Gas Works should be to the left of the railway line not the right. |

I can confirm the comment of JayVee Milestone regarding Image EPW022354 showing Brentwood Brick Works, Gas Works and environs which has been wrongly printed left to right, as the Gas Works were to the north of the railway line not the south as they appear in this image! Also the railway line actually bends to the left when travelling to the east from Brentwood Station. |

This is a mirror image, i.e. printed the wrong way round. The flattened oval of roads on the left (Crescent Road, etc) should be on the right side of the picture and the brick works, etc on the left. |
