Gorton Foundry. Beyer Peacock & Co. This works was responsible for the export of many Beyer Garratt articulated steam locomotives overseas. Many went to Southern Africa - South Africa, Zimbabwe - then Rhodesia - but also to countries such as Bolivia where three metre gauge 4-8-2+2-8-4s worked over the Potosi branch from 1928
