My (maternal) grandparents lived at No 1 Park Lane which was then a ham shop. After the start of WWII hams we not available so they turned the shop into a snack bar (and as Steve Gregory has already mentioned, the fountain was removed). In 1946 (approx.) the film So Well Remembered was made in and around Park Green, and my grandparents provided tea and cakes to the star John Mills and his wife Mary.

This road is current named Park Lane, but in 1935 (and presumably earlier) it was called Old Park Lane. My (maternal) grandparents, Harold and Annie Savage, lived at No 1 Old Park Lane.
