As per previous pin.- "HMS Pekin" was the base for the Grimsby Minesweeping Division, Royal Navy from 1907 to 1919. A minesweeping trawler, "Passing", based in Grimsby was the first sweeper casualty when a mine took off her bow, but her bulkheads held and she was towed, backwards, by the paddle minesweeper "Brighton Queen", and beached at Scarborough. Pekin Buildings was a lot quieter in the late 1960s !!
