A rare view of Grosvenor Canal extending all the way to Ebury Bridge. The canal once continued furthur to the north east until Victoria station and the approach tracks were built upon it. Now (2013) the canal is a mere stub at its chelsea Bridge entrance.

The North East wing of the Royal Hospital Chelsea shrouded in construction activity as it is rebuilt following being destroyed by Zepplin bombing in 1918. This same part of the hospital was then again destroyed by a V2 in 1944!

Although a view of Belgravia and Westminster beyond Chelsea, the Royal Hospital is clearly visible in the lower left quadrant. Of particular note are the many buildings that were on Burton Court and also formed part of the Army Pensions Office early in the 20th Century. Compare with the view in 1928 where these have all disappeared and the grounds reinstated to grass with a flat roofed sports pavilion in place.
