In the foreground is Fort House, subsequently named Bleak House to reflect the fact that Charles Dickens stayed and wrote there.

Holy Trinity Church, with Tower (now gone)is in the backgound.

The crenellated building is Bleak House at Broadstairs, now the Charles Dickens Museum and formerly a residence of the author. The white painted cottages immediately to the right are the former Coastguard cottages.
