Trolleybus pulling away from the Bloomsbury terminus. Three routes served this terminal, 555 to Leyton & Woodford, 581 to Woodford, and 665 to Barking. Routes 555 & 581 were converted to diesel buses on 14th April 1959, and the 665 on the 10th November 1959. Trolleybuses turned here by arriving down Theobalds Road, turning into Parton Street, proceeding into Red Lion Square and Old North Street, and finally back into Theobalds Road.

Entrance to the Kingsway Subway. Opened 10th April 1908, enlarged to allow doube deck trams to operate through it from 15th January 1931, and closing on 5th April 1952 after car 185 ran through - the last to do so. Experiments were made to run trolleybuses through the subway, with bus 1379 built with offside doors operated by the driver for use at the island platform at Aldwych. Trial runs were made in August 1939 but for safe working it was found alterations would need to be made to the tunnel walls. With the onset of war this project did not proceed.
