This looks like a development of the Vickers Supermarine Attacker, but has swept wings. This could be the prototype for the Swift, but it appears to have a tail wheel at this stage, not a tricycle U/c.

De Havilland Comet prototype - with single wheel main under carriage - not the Comet 1 - that was the developed version of this plane which had a 4 wheel main undercarriage.

Vickers Valetta - nose wheel development for the RAF of the tail dragger Viking.

It's actually a Varsity, designed as a trainer for Navigators and Bomb-aimers. The Valetta was just a military version of the Viking transport, both tail-draggers.

A pilot who must remain nameless managed to do a barrel-roll in a Varsity,(a strictly non-aerobatic aircraft). The airframe was so badly over-stressed that it was written off. A very expensive stunt.

I do think it is a Lancastrian but the starboard outer engine appears to be a prop so I'm not sure it's a testbed
