WW2 Static Flame Trap. Oil tank buried in earth bank and would have been operated by members of local Home Guard.

During WWII a roadblock, number 42, was situated at the railway bridge and was manned by the local Home Guard under the command of Major Norman Thompson, who was perhaps better known at Norman Dennis, a local actor.
