 Annie Road, Springwell Road and Mary Road was devastated by a parachute mine that wiped out houses in Annie Road, Springwell Road and Mary Road.
Amongst those killed was a fire man and a local police Sargent attending an incident in Annie Road who didn't hear the warnings that a parachute mine was floating down towards them due to the noise from the fire pump. |

| Cleared bomb site corner of Annie Road and Monfa Road.
This was hit by a HE (High Explosive bomb) further up Annie Road the area was devastated by a parachute mine wiping out houses in Annie Road, Springwell Road and Mary Road. |
