This is the roof of the 'Royal Hotel' known as 'The white lead' because of the dust from the Lead Works that settled on the roof.

Quality Row consisted of a short row of properties that stood alongside Waggonway Rd, then at one end a short row went towards the river and then turned around the back to form a horseshoe shape.

All these white buildings were called the Prefabs. They replaced the old houses that had stood there previously and had names starting from the left to right after trees like Fir St, Oak St, Ash St,Elm St and Wood St
