In the 50's to the 80's coaches operated by Southdown motor services, Campings Coaches, and Unique used to line up from here towards the palace pier to get custom for day tours or afternoon and evening tours, Southdown had a office just before the entrance to the pier and Campings Coaches had an office at the top of the steps leading down to the Aquarium (now Sea Life Centre) '
