This Gear Making Factory was originally the Platers Sheds for the Newcastle Shipbuilding Company 1919-21. In the late 1930s it became the Reay Gear Works. Later it was George Angus & Co, gear makers, then later still it became RW Transmissions. I was a Fitter at RWT ftom 1965 to 71. In about 1975 the Company closed down & the land is now a Housing Estate '
