One of five 3 SUB electric multiple units of the Southern Railway third rail system seen in the station. This one is clearly a recent conversion from the earlier steam hauled coaches, with its fresh white roof standing out. The number of trains would suggest it is not a race day, with some spare sets in place to add to trains for rush hour services. '
