' St. Paul's, Bow Common. This beautiful church was bombed and gutted in WW2. The four walls and steeple stood as an imposing monument and reminder of the 1940 'Blitz. It was demolished in 1957 and a contemporary church built on the site. This Anglican church won an award in 2013 for the best modern church to be built in the UK since 1953, largely due to the dedicated commitment of the Revd. Gresham Kirkby who was involved in the design. '
