' Hudson Scott and Sons (later The Metal box) The site opened in 1869. The site was on both sides of James Street, this side was the manufacturing site and the opposite side held the print site on the ground floor and the canteen and offices on the upper floors. The manufacturing site has now been demolished. Printing stopped at the Carlisle site in around the early 2000's and then the manufacturing moved onto the print side of James st. As of 2020 there are still speciality tin boxes produced on the site although it is done on a much smaller scale. '
