Borough Mews, Bedford Street (Head Office of Joseph Tomlinson & Sons Ltd.) Purchased in 1870 by my 4x great-grandfather, Joseph Tomlinson, which led to the firm becoming the largest funeral furnishers and pioneers in motor body building in Sheffield and the surrounding provinces. On every Royal Visit and Civic Ceremony in Sheffield since 1897, the firm supplied carriages, horses and horsemen to the processions. On most Royal Visits to Sheffield, the firm provided the accommodation for the Royal Carriages, Horses and Servants at Borough Mews. '
