This house was the residence of William Pickles Hartley. It was built here next to the new factory when manufacturing moved from Bootle to Aintree in the nineteenth century. He and his family moved to a large villa in Southport a couple of decades later.The building was still in use as an office until the factory ceased manufacturing in the sixties. '
