' TSMV Southend Britannia, 102 tons, 109ft loa. x 25ft beam x 3ft draft, built 1923-4 by J. Thornycroft, I.o.W. First year on the Foreshore -Summer, 1924. Petrol/paraffin engines. BoT Steam 4 Licensed to carry 345 passengers. Owned by Charles & Arthur Myall. Requisitioned on 28th May, 1940, by RN for Dunkirk service and survived the Operation undamaged. Continued War service as RN Harbour Auxiliary and Tender. Traded from Foreshore Postwar, until holiday Trade died towards end of 1960's from Airline Charter Holiday competition. Sold for further Service in West Country.. '
