' Hill Close Gardens - circa 1845 Local traders and shop keepers without space at their town properties rented plots to use as gardens. They grew fruit trees and flowers as well as vegetables and even added timber and brick summer houses. Later some were allowed to buy the plot freeholds. Although some of the gardens were built on in early 1900's some remain, as a visitor attraction in 2014 '
