| Devon Valley Mill had a football team that played in this field. Incidentally the going rate for a night shift worker in 1970 was 5s 6d an hour (28p). |

| The river which is integral to the mill's existence has become an adversary. Over the years flooding has caused millions of pounds worth of damage to machinery and buildings. |

| Goods trucks in a siding off the GWR Paddington to Exeter line. The lines have today been removed but many of the old buildings are still there. This siding must have been essential for the efficient movement of paper etc from the mill just a short distance away. |
