The line was double track throughout and ran from Glodwick Road to Guide Bridge via Park Bridge and Ashton under Lyne. The viaduct at Park Bridge was refurbished in the 60s in anticipation of parcels traffic to the new depot at Oldham which never materialised. The viaduct was demolished in 1971.
