Tywyn(Towyn). In 1950 or slightly later , around the time of the Korean War, my father was called up to go and carry out training at the R.A. Territorial Camp at Tywyn(Towyn) This was the site of a RAF Airfield which provided targets for the Artillery firing out into Cardigan Bay. There was also a camp at Tonfanau to the north on the other side of the river Dysynni. Details on the RAF site are on: http://www.abct.org.uk/airfields/airfield-finder/towyn/ The photos attached show my father second left with his fellow recruits, a photo of the camp with the town behind(the church of St Cadfan is easily recognisable just right of centre) and a photo of 3.7 inch AA gun. The box to the right of the breech is the predictor(?). The radar is left of centre.

Church marked as marked on map as Capel Linanus(Calv. Meth.) The photo shows it has been much modified but has a large notice board outside which would indicate it was built in 1877.
