There must be loads of pictures of this place - it wasn't hidden away - but this and a video are all I have seen. For more information and speculation, see [[http://www.cementkilns.co.uk/cement_kiln_wishaw.html]].

The Wishaw cement plant is in the background. The Glasgow Iron and Steel Company was one of three (the others being Coltness and Baird’s) iron firms that decided to make cement using slag around 1910, and these were the only cement plants in Scotland until the Dunbar plant was built in 1963. The Wishaw plant seems to have been expanded and modernised in the 1920s, but its history remains hazy.
