Apparently infilled and created using debris from the digging of the Finnart St. railway tunnel.

The park became RAF Greenock during WWII - a seaplane base.

On the left edge of the frame is a long building in Shore Place which was the Gourock tram depot.Later it was Montgomerys garage.I lived above it till 1964.Now site of Eastern View.

The white two roofed building was the new bus garage of Harold Whatmanoughs Gourock Pullman bus service.Taken over by Western SMT on its formation in 1932 .Remained a bus depot till the mid 1950s.I remember it Gourock motors in the 1970s.
