This has to be Calshot Naval Air Station, not shown on Ordnance Survey maps of the 1930s: presumably a sensitive military establishment. Not even the castle was shown, either

The Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS)flying base was opened on 29 March 1913. On the formation of the RAF, the merger of the RNAS with the Royal flying Corps (RFC), RAF Calshot became the HQ of 10 Group. The station survived WWI to became the School of Naval Co-operation & Air Navigation.

The history of the School of Naval Co-operation & Air Navigation is confused as it seems to have move back and forth across the Solent to Lee-on-Solent changing titles in the process.

The RAF High Speed Flight trained at Calshot for several months each year from 1927 to 1931 in preparation for th Schneider Trophy races.

Flying continued at Calshot until October 1953 when the Sunderlands departed leaving the base to marine craft until it was finally closed in May 1961.

Calshot Castle was built for Henry VIII in 1540. It is now owned by English Heritage. The naval air station was a centre for the operation of flying boats and anti-submarine warfare. Calshot Spit was also the venue for the Schneider Trophy flying race in which predecessors of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter competed
