Oxbarn Farm Estate, now the site of Warstones Primary School was owned by the Sparrow family, weathly Coalmasters, who married into the Mander family. According to a 1925 Land Registry document, it was owned by John Sparrow's son, Isaac at the time of this photo.

This farmland belonged to John William Sparrow and is now the Windsor Avenue playing fields.

This image shows how farming land was built over as Wolverhampton expanded in the 1920s and 1930s. The Warstones estate was completed in the 1940s. New estates were built to house people after older houses in town and city centres were demolished under slum clearance programmes.
