Essential maintenance

HES is currently undertaking essential maintenance on our web services. This will limit access to services in the following ways:

 

- Subscription access for HES online services will be unavailable (Scran, NCAP)

- Image purchasing options will be limited (Canmore, Britain from Above, Scran, NCAP)

- Any enhanced services which require a log in will be unavailable (My Canmore, Britain from Above contributions, Scran contribute)

 

General access to these services will all continue. Enquiries will still be able to be submitted.

We anticipate services to be restored from Monday 1st February 2021.

More details on the monument can be seen at www.kew.org/visit-kew-gardens/garden-attractions-A-Z/temple-of-arethusa.htm. Inside the temple is a war memorial to the workers of Kew that lost their lives in the two World Wars. One of them is John Divers, my first cousin twice removed, of the 25th London Cyclists' Regiment. Details of the Cyclists' Regiment can be seen at www.25thlondon.com.

Museum Number 1. Actually the second museum. The first was too small and when the second was built (1857), the first museum became Museum No 2 whilst the new museum became Museum No 1.
