Former level crossing on Aerodrome Road carrying the wartime railway spur from the Midland mainline into the Hendon Aerodrome aircraft production facilities and on to the Airco factory site off the Edgware Road, Colindale. The temporary railway spur was soon to be decommissioned as post-war production would rapidly be run down. The level crossing is sited at the point where Rowan Drive would later emerge. This was a residential cul-de-sac of police housing adjoining the Metropolitan Police training college. This, in turn, is being redeveloped currently, along with the adjoining part of the Met Police training estate originally housed on the old London Country Club site.
