I don't favour the idea of adding "pins" to the image it destroys the overall effect.

Based on this Image 001529 it's a shame the view preceeded the introduction of London's buses to this location, so famous in the 1930's onwards to 1968 for a terrific line-up of some 5, or so routes and single & double-deck vehicles.

Very good to see to the right of the RFH the Queen Elizabeth's (the 1st) Hunting Lodge without the recent, and currently as I write, repainted limewash over the beams - my opinion naturally.

Butler's Retreat just further to the right is however a marvellouslly restored building and looks resplendent with a new red roof. Well done on the funding allocated for that job.

Warren Lodge is down in the bottom left corner, but worthy of note is the open area just centre and across the road from the Lodge & Butler's Retreat: this was a short par 3 hole of the neighbouring golf course. Quite a novelty that existed well into my family days' outings here in the 1950's. Sadly it became the ubiquitous 'necessity' for a car park!

Chingford Golf Club is the oldest course in Essex, dating back to 1886 and believed to be designed by James Braid. Royal Epping Forest Golf Club was founded in 1888.

This is a public course, situated on common land, which has been managed by the Corporation of London for over 120 years.

In line with a requirement going back into the nineteenth century, golfers on this course and other courses owned by the Corporation must wear red. The Pro Shops offer plenty of choice in red golfing wear!
