Canal Bridge next to farm locale called 'Bates Bridge' in my time 40s/80s, A bit of local imfo from the bridge next to the Farm. Down the side of the farms second field and along side the old Australian Alum Works,I think now operating as part of Tannery, There was a track Going back to the time before the Manchester Canal That was the way for locals and visitors to the monastery locals possible fishing crossing the' River Mersey' It was told to me as the natural extention of' Sea lane ' no proof just local talk thanks
