Stationary boiler for greenhouse heating. There is plenty of fuel in stock.

A pair of what look like extremely well run nurseries (There is a fence separating the two) The newish glasshouses to the left of the picture appear to be of reinforced concrete construction, this was due to steel and timber shortages post WW2, so that might date the picture to the early 1950's

The main crop appears to be roses, both as nurserystock and as cut flowers. The stationary boiler would more likely be used for steam sterilising the glasshouse soil - the main boilerhouse is set in a pit just to the left of the stationary boiler, and would only supply hot water for the glasshouse heating, not steam. (It is set in a pit as circulation was by gravity flow, not by a pumped system)

I would suggest Surrey judging by the terrain and the architecture in the area.

I wonder what the large building in the lower right corner was for - it doesn't appear to have any major access points
