 End of the Grand Junction Canal. There was a wood yard there; I used to collect sawdust from it for use in a hutch. |

| 42 Hawthorne Crescent - my home from 1950 until 1964, the year I joined the RAF. Had a nice view of the allotments in the field opposite, and the cemetery (quiet neighbours) to the north of the allotments. The large tree at the end of the poplars was at the bottom of next door's garden and is an oak. It's still there. |

| Elliman Avenue Primary School which I attended in the fifties. The sports field is opposite - played a few games of football against other schools there; not to a high standard - it was like a flock of sheep chasing after the ball! |
