' Tywyn(Towyn). In 1950 or slightly later , around the time of the Korean War, my father was called up to go and carry out training at the R.A. Territorial Camp at Tywyn(Towyn) This was the site of a RAF Airfield which provided targets for the Artillery firing out into Cardigan Bay. There was also a camp at Tonfanau to the north on the other side of the river Dysynni. Details on the RAF site are on: http://www.abct.org.uk/airfields/airfield-finder/towyn/ The photos attached show my father second left with his fellow recruits, a photo of the camp with the town behind(the church of St Cadfan is easily recognisable just right of centre) and a photo of 3.7 inch AA gun. The box to the right of the breech is the predictor(?). The radar is left of centre. '
