' Highbury Athenaeum - a conservatoire opened 23 January 1882, and containing a rehearsal hall and a performance hall. From 1927 to 1932 it was the recording studio for Metropole and Piccadilly records (78 rpm). In 1933 it became film studios, hired for independent productions. After WW2 the Rank Organisation bought it for making B-movies; and later turned it into a training facility - nicknamed The Rank Charm School. In 1950 it was acquired by television interests and was the home of High Definition Films Ltd. From 1956 to 1960 it was a studio for ATV - Emergency Ward 10 was made there. After ATV left, it was demolished. '
